Engaged Summer Program

Engaged Summer

Become apart of a summer-long paid service opportunity for Mason students wanting to learn more about community and anti-racism.

Explore concepts of social justice and community engagement through relationship building, trainings, and workshops to gain experience in a variety of areas. In building relationships with the tools they have gained from this program, students will be able to create social change. Over the summer, students will engage with different materials about social change, leadership, and anti-racism to achieve learning outcomes. Through this critical service opportunity, each Engaged Summer Fellow will be able to better understand issues in the community, social responsibility and their commitment and connection to change.

The Engaged Summer Program, like our Civic Fellows Program, pairs students with community-based organizations to support community led programs and services. Students build relationships with community partners and get real world learning experiences, all while participating in training and workshops that will deepen their understanding of social justice, equity and antiracism. Engaged Summer Fellows believe that through social justice, communities can be transformed so that all people have access to the resources they need to thrive. Engaged Summer Fellows commit to 30 hours of service per week. Students will work on building relationships with community partners and getting real-world learning experiences, all while participating in training and workshops that will deepen their understanding of social justice, equity, and antiracism. We believe that through social justice, communities can be transformed so that all people have access to the resources they need to thrive.
